Report on Teach Project

This project was the easiest project in this class. It didn’t involve as much research because I relied on my own knowledge to teach a technology.

Tools I used:

-   my computer

-   the internet

-   Picasa 3

-   Google to search for other sources

-  instructions from Blackboard

Skills Learned and Challenges Overcome

I learned more about Picasa as I went through it. I had to pay very close attention to each option within Picasa because I was writing instructions, and I learned a few new tricks, like how to zoom in on a photo while viewing it, and that Picasa automatically saves a screen shot in a folder titled “Screen Shots.” I didn’t know I could do those things before.

As for any challenges, I didn’t encounter very many. My main challenge was starting this project. This is a summer class, and its online, which makes it easy to put on the back burner. I had been on a vacation, and then my parents were visiting for two weeks, and then my boyfriend was visiting for one week. Those are major distractions, and I put this project off until the last minute. So, managing my time was my main challenge. Like I said, this project was simple for me, so I didn’t really encounter any challenges after I had started it.

Future

I plan on using Picasa a lot in the future. A LOT. I am a photographer, though mostly with darkroom photography. However, I like to travel, and I take a lot of photos while I travel. After my trip, I sit down and go through almost every photo and enhance it to look better. That is why I like Picasa, because it is easy to use for simple enhancements. I wouldn’t even know where to look for those options in Photoshop because it is so complicated.
